Graveyard Charges.

There are no further full burial plots remaining, so none are for sale.

The following are based on (and lower than) comparable fees charged by Bromley Cemetery. Contributions are needed to cover the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the graveyard.

Ashes Plot. These can no longer be reserved in advance.

“Buying an ashes plot”. Permission to bury ashes in a designated plot. Including interment of ashes & erection of memorial.

(Several ashes can be buried in one plot.)    £1495

Burying ashes in an existing plot £450. £650 for 2 sets

Permission to bury ashes in a general plot    £250.

Interment.

Permission to re-open a grave   £1932

Permission to bury ashes          £450 (£650 if two sets of ashes are buried at the same time)

Memorial.

Permission to erect a memorial.   £120 for a flat ashes’ memorial. £180 for larger memorial or standing headstone, £400 to cover the grave.

Permission to add or change inscription on a memorial, which must be approved beforehand.  £60

Notes:

These are for the relevant permissions, not for the work done. They contribute to the upkeep of the cemetery.

All burials are accompanied by a short service. If there is no service in the church, this is performed at the site of burial. The permissions above include a small contribution to the minister.

Burials can only take place when the parish priest is present. If he is away, there should be a contribution for the expenses of a visiting priest, normally £80.

Plots cannot be transferred; we will probably be able to buy them back & re-sell them if necessary.
